Youth Safety

Trust is
not assumed.

Young people are at the center of much of our work. Every adult who comes near that work is screened, trained, credentialed and cleared before they ever meet a child.

Our standards
01

SCREENED BEFORE CONTACT

Every adult who supervises, transports, coaches, mentors or photographs a young person completes a criminal background check through an approved third-party screening provider before their first day. We store only the result and the dates — never Social Security numbers or report contents.

02

TRAINED, NOT JUST APPROVED

Youth protection and safeguarding training is required for everyone. Mandated-reporter training, CPR and First Aid are added where the program or Alabama law calls for them.

03

CREDENTIALED BY PROGRAM

Requirements are set program by program. A classroom pitch competition, a skate event, a summer program and a transportation activity carry different obligations, so we configure each one rather than pretending they are the same.

04

CLEARED, THEN RE-CLEARED

No one is marked Cleared for Youth Programs until every required item is verified and current. Credentials that approach expiration are flagged automatically and clearance lapses when they do.

05

SIGNED EXPECTATIONS

A code of conduct, confidentiality agreement and role agreement are on file for every youth-facing adult, renewed on schedule.

06

FAMILIES IN CONTROL

Parents and guardians complete consent, emergency, medical, transportation and media forms in the Impact Portal — and only the forms their child's program actually requires.

SEE SOMETHING?
SAY IT.

If something feels wrong — a boundary crossed, a policy ignored, a child at risk — tell us. Reports can be anonymous. They go only to the small group of authorized administrators responsible for youth safety.

If a child is in immediate danger

CALL 911 FIRST.

Then tell us, so we can act on our side. Suspected abuse or neglect in Alabama can also be reported to the county Department of Human Resources.

For personnel and families

STAFF, VOLUNTEERS + MENTORS

Upload licenses, certifications and training certificates privately in the Impact Portal. Your records are visible only to you and authorized administrators.

PARENTS + GUARDIANS

Consent, emergency contacts, medical authorization, transportation and media release forms are assigned by program and signed electronically in the portal. Youth records are never published in our public library.
